I told you I would be baking more since Thanksgiving is right around the corner.
Yesterday, my friend Johanna gave me a lesson in bread baking...since the only bread I've baked before was pumpernickel bread-->and it was a bust. Not just your average everyday bust, but ground breaking, major bust. Tasted like a rock and weighed as much as a brick.
Onward and upward!
Boy did we have fun. It is so much fun to make bread from scratch! The best part is getting your hands dirty and in the dough and punching the bread down as it rises! Did I say that it was fun yet? Because it was so much fun!
We baked dinner rolls and cinnamon rolls. The recipes were straight out of the Better Homes and Gardens Cookbook. So I'm not going to post the recipes as most people own that standard cookbook.
Here are some fun pictures.
The lovely Johanna=)
Kneading some dough.
Spreading butter with my fingers...it was like I was a kid playing with something I knew I would get in trouble for later. So much fun.
Rolling the cinnamon rolls.
Before.
After.
Time to eat!
These are so yummy that once I started writing this blog I just had to eat another. Yum.
Hey, I'm baking bread tomorrow!!!
Hmmm, note to self, don't read Kristin's blog when hungry! I've now got a ferocious growl going on in my tummy. Looks so good!
