Living the Crazy Life: One Recipe at a Time

Need Some Prayer

Hey all,

This week has already been a doosey.

To begin, my brother ships off to war very soon. This is his second tour and this one seems harder (on him, my family, and myself) than the first one. Ever since he came back from his first tour he has been a different person, in a totally good way. We are so much closer. He is more caring, gentle, family oriented. He makes me feel so loved.

All day Sunday we hung out with him and my parents. At church they prayed over him, then we ate my Dad's bbq ribs for lunch and watched the Super Bowl that evening.

I want to shout it out to the world that my brother is so amazing and how proud I am of him. What he does is hush, hush...so hush, hush I remain.

But because you are reading this I will tell you how amazing he is:

He sacrifices his time by leaving those he loves and what he is familiar with to protect us halfway around the world
He is ready to sacrifice his life for you and me daily, all so we may live in freedom
He sacrifices his emotional health, seeing things we've never seen even in our worst nightmares
He sacrifices his physical health, putting his body through physical hell and living in high stress, high adrenaline situations

I am so proud of him, respect him, and appreciate all he does.

Please pray for him.

Other stuff is going on too, including teaching my first ever lesson tomorrow, having crazy professors that expect the world from me and the slight fact that we are moving in 11 days.

That was so touching to hear you honor your brother. I hope your lesson goes well, and I had no idea you were moving!
