Anyway.
Today, at my local grocery store I came across some grapes for $1.99 and put them in my cart. As my husband and I check out we notice that our bill is slightly more than normal. He starts naming our extra expenses for the week and says, "Well your grapes were six dollars."
Say what?!?!?!
SIX DOLLARS?
Ok, so they are $5.39. My hubby rounded up, way up.
(And notice they were $1.99 per pound, not per bunch. Grrr.)
But still...are they made of gold?
Here are the infamous grapes.
I'm not sure if I should eat them or freeze them in nitrogen for future generations.
I have the same problem with grapes - the price is so deciving at HEB, because you see 1.99 or whatever and they are already packaged in nice bags so you think - I'll grab a bag and it'll be two bucks - WRONG! They do look yummy though. :-)
I always forget to weigh the grapes and am usually shocked at what a bundle ends up being as well. Sigh...
Fyi- Frozen grapes are awesome treats in the summer, so maybe you should freeze at least a few of em!
Hey relax! One day, soon, we will be paying $15 for the privilege of eating real fruits, instead of chemically enhanced something.
